Florida Law Enforcement Careers & Lateral Opportunities

Florida law enforcement agencies are actively hiring qualified officers, including out-of-state, federal, and military law enforcement professionals seeking relocation. Competitive compensation, signing bonuses, take-home vehicle programs, and no state income tax make Florida an attractive destination for experienced officers.

Agencies Currently Hiring

Below are current open positions with participating Florida law enforcement agencies. Out-of-state officers should review eligibility requirements prior to applying.

Out-of-State Officers & Relocation to Florida

If you are currently serving outside Florida, you may qualify for certification through the Florida Equivalency of Training (EOT) process rather than completing the full 770-hour Basic Recruit Academy.

Eligible officers typically complete required documentation, limited high-liability training, and pass the Florida State Officer Certification Examination (SOCE).

Why Officers Are Choosing Florida

Florida agencies continue to recruit experienced officers seeking long-term career stability and quality of life.

Certification & Testing Requirements

All out-of-state, federal, and military law enforcement officers must obtain Florida certification prior to appointment. This includes successful completion of the Florida State Officer Certification Examination (SOCE) and any required high-liability training components.

The SOCE is based directly on Florida’s standardized Basic Law Enforcement Academy curriculum and should not be underestimated. Officers preparing to test are strongly encouraged to understand exam structure, pass rates, and preparation strategy before scheduling.
